Comparing to culture between Japan and Thailand
Kazuya
Currently, it has become essential for us to know about the world. Our current world is global and it is much easier to get in touch with people who live far away and move to different countries than in the past. I think it is important now to recognize the similarity and differences between our own culture and different cultures to communicate with each other effectively. Therefore, today I will focus on Japanese and Thai culture. There are three points to consider, school, food, and language.
Firstly, I want to tell you about “school” in the two countries. Actually, it is very similar. Both of countries have the same educational system for example, elementary school is six years, junior high and high school have three years each and university is four years. According to my friend living in Thailand, schools in Thailand have school uniforms as well, and it is similar design to Japanese one. For example, students of both countries wear blazers. Therefore, I can say that both of countries are similar from the aspect of “School”.
Secondly, I will focus on the “food” of each country. Naturally, they are quite different from each other. Generally, Thai food is much spicier than that of Japan. For example, curry and rice is too spicy for me to eat. Moreover, the way to dish up rice is a little bit different. I mean that the shape of rice is a little bit different and also spicier than Japanese. On the other hand, my friend living in Thailand who ate Japanese food said that it is not so delicious. In terms of fruits, both of countries are also different. According to my friend, it is natural for them to eat star fruit or dragon fruit in their daily basis. On the other hand, Japanese have melon or apple as a breakfast. In a short, I can state that both of countries are different from each other from the view point of “food”.
