Online education vs Traditional education
These days, more and more students take online classes because of the flexibility and convenience it provides. Online education is becoming a cheaper or less time-consuming alternative to traditional education. Some colleges adopted it and it is becoming close to us. In this essay, I will discuss the pros and cons of these two types of educations from the viewpoints of cost, skills and experiences.

First, in terms of cost, online education is cheaper than traditional education because we do not have to pay teaching material fees, expenditure for facilities and equipment, and other related costs. In addition, we are able to cut down examination fees and tuition fees to pass entrance examinations. Even the most expensive online courses do not cost as much as the average college tuition. The national college tuition is 25,000 dollars on the average, while Coder Camps which is a famous online course costs nearly 10,000 dollars for a nine-week intensive program, which may seem like a lot but is still not even half the average costs of college. Moreover, there is cheaper education which is called MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses). If you are enrolled in it, you can take many lectures free of charge.

Second, there are differences of skills we are able to learn between online and traditional education. Now, we learn general critical thinking skills that build a foundation for the rest of our life at traditional college. Of course, these skills are necessary; however, they are not enough because the hard skills and experience are needed in a modern workforce, especially when it comes to technical jobs. For example, if we want to work in digital publishing, but we do not know WordPress, our employer will be disappointed. Unfortunately, most universities do not offer courses on these kinds of digital skills or even let you know the importance of learning them. However, we can get greater and more specific skills that will get us jobs by taking online courses. In addition, online education keeps our skills up-to-date. For example, Apple recently released a new programming language called Swift. Since it was launched in June, hundreds of online Swift tutorials and courses have sprung up. On the other hand, it will probably take many more months or years before we can learn Swift as part of a college programming course.
