These days, each country has unique food, such as Japanese food, Chinese food and so on. Additionally, there have feature because these food are made for local people. They prefer such flavor. When I went to US. I ate at a Japanese restaurant in the US. However, I felt that the flavor differs from Japan. This is because the taste is made to suit US people or Japanese people is different. So. I interested in difference of unique food of various countries. In addition, I intend to compare Japanese and US food.
First, the feature of food is different. The feature of Japanese food is healthy. This is famous all over the world. Because, these days Japanese food restaurant have been increasing as healthy such as Sushi. Sushi is made from rice and fresh fish, so this is less calorie and get good nourishment. Japanese food has a lot of fish-based cooking. Of course, other country use fish for their cooking, but I think Japanese food has more recipe. In contrast, US food mainly use meat, such as steak, and hamburger. US food has a lot of high calorie cooking. Therefore, US has an obesity problems. For example, they often drink beverage with a big size. When I went to US, I was surprised the size of drink. In US, I ordered middle size of drink, but the drink, which I got, was large size in Japan. In addition, US beverage is more sugary than Japan. It mean US one use more sugar. However Japanese people also prefer US food. Because US food is strong flavor, which Japanese food do not have. Therefore, obesity problems are appeared in Japan.
Second, I think that we can learn about unique food from chain stores. These days, chain stores are increasing, and it make us know flavor of food which everyone eats. Moreover, domestic chain store expand into oversea. We feel that food of foreign chain store mean unique food the country has, such as McDonald’s. McDonald’s is a famous US Company and mainly serve us hamburger. Any other famous McDonald’s menu, it has French fries or variety of beverage. We think McDonald’s is the best popular food of US. In addition, US food chain store is coming to Japan, such as Starbucks, KFC, and so on. On the contrary, Japanese food chain store also expand into overseas such as Yoshinoya, and Japanese noodle. Based on these factors, we prefer our country food and other country food.
