However, while it is convenient for us to catch world news, our chance to know professional information diminishes recently. This time, I compare with the means to get the news and the relation with supplying information’s speed and quality.
Firstly, we have mainly three means to get information, newspaper, television and Internet. Newspaper supplies information to us late, but its quality is so accurate and professional. Moreover newspaper has information of our region. However, newspaper has strong influence for people. Therefore, we are in danger of catching biased information. For instance, Asahi Shimbun is said to “the left” because it flames the Japanese government’s policy, frequently. TV is usually supplied with information by a series of group company publishing newspaper. For example, Yomiuri Shimbun connects with Nihon television. In addition, many kinds of people see TV everyday, so that it televises information widely and shallowly and that has a stronger influence than newspapers. Internet’s benefit is fast and easy to get the news all over the world. We can always know incidences in the globe. In that way, as all of us can convey and edit information, we must choose it, which story is really correct. Though a lot of the Internet’s information has not so strong influence such as TV, perhaps same kind of information like discontent of government has very large power. This example is “Spring of Arab”, which is accessed by Facebook. In sum up, important similarity is that we must not absorb all of information, and vital different things are their scale and quality of information. To consider that what is good for us and what is correct is necessary thing.
Secondly, I view how speed and quality are related with each other when we get the information. Newspaper brings information very lately because editors look into so carefully by catching accurate sources and publish it twice in a day, morning and evening. Television is not so late like newspaper. On the other hand, it can dispatch information so fast by using a prompt announcement like in election in contrast its information is occasionally wrong by too much haste. Internet can convey information timely because originators are able to spread their circumstance. For instance, if there is happened earthquake, people living there can tell directly through SNS like Twitter. Instead, there is a possibility that the information is fake, actually, in this case, it took place in the past on Twitter.Truly, in Twitter, some people tweet that a famous talent has passed by. However this information is lie and other people are confused with it. It is so irritating action.
